HAIKU

HAIKU

I try to hide.

An old oak tree

Watches me.

The owl hoots

Wait……

There is no answer.

An egret flies

 Into the sun.

Is it not blinded?

A chorus of crickets

So lound

I cannot hear you call.

An old bird’s nest

With one small feather

Why sadness?

Our lame cat

Chases crickets

She catches few.

Rocks in the earth

Stop my spade

With such fierceness.

Our kiwi vine

Is going to sleep for winter

Leaf at a time.

Morning.

A branch snaps beneath my foot.

The universe listens.

A homeless man sleeps

By the curb.

Is it winder or summer?

A lone plane drones.

White butterflies

Land on the myoporum blossoms.
