Just like Shakespeare's McBeth, his foul murders are carried out on his mainly Socialist or Kurdish opponents - mostly after midnight.  I don't think that his Kurdish minority wishes to hear that this monster actually has some supporters and apologists in other countries, particularly the mothers of the children, which he has gassed.

       Like many people, I am sympathetic to the Arab cause, and critical of American imperialism. 

I don't think however, that support for Saddam Hussain helps the Arab cause.  He's so hated in every country of the world, that he damages the struggle for Arab dignity and economic freedom, and impedes any progress towards pan-Arabism.  Support for this dictator detracts from the fund of goodwill that the liberal community throughout the globe feels for the Arab community. The only nation that benefits from support for Saddam is - ironically - The hated USA!  The people who lose if any international support is shown to Saddam - are - conversely- the Iraqi people.
