A trip to the Clinic 1996

Today I took Connor to our local 'Health Clinic' for his check up. Clare was doing a 'face-lift’ on a client - so I took the baby alone.  You would have been proud of me - the only man among twenty woman and babies!  There I was with Connor suspended in a 'papoose' round my neck.  I stripped him off and had him weighed - put his nappy back on - and re-dressed him effortlessly.  The women were looking on with a mixture of curiosity and wonderment - that     'a mere man' could manage the intricacies of infant wardrobe! Anyway, I was treated with a great deal of respect and deference  (yes, it is a very civilised social moré) Doctor Gary - a woman Doctor - examined the baby, and pronounced him satisfactory and complying with all the growth criteria, and within the expected developmental parameters.
